Wand - Card Study 7

"A device, a trinket to many, but you should know better, dear." This is the base card for the Wand Set - The Mage, and a lesson about wands. A bit of Harry Potter mood, with 3 light sources for challenge.		"Um engenho, traquitana para muitos. Mas tu sabe-lo melhor, não?" Esta é a carta base para o grupo Varinha; O Mago, e a lição sobre varinhas. Um pouco de ambiente Harry Potter, com 3 fontes de luz por desafio.

Crown - Card Study 6

"A Crown to rule them all! Such a fool's dream..." This is the base card for the Crown Set - The slave, and the crown, lost in darkness. The concept came with Marilyn Manson's music "Slave only dreams to be King", from the amazing Album "Pale Emperor". My gratitude to Brian Hugh Warner for the music and the inspiration it carried. I added an extra love to the background, because it really needed that. Color fading ensures the contrast with foreground figures.		"Uma Coroa, para tudo reinar! Tal é o sonho dos tolos..." Esta é a carta base para o grupo Coroa; O escravo, e a coroa perdida na escuridão. O conceito surgiu com a música "Escravos apenas pensam em ser Reis", do fantástico album "Pale Emperor", de Marilyn Manson. A minha gratidão para Brian Hugh Warner, pela música e a inspiração que ela trouxe. Acrescentei um amor extra ao cenário, pois a cena precisava-o. Atenuação de cores foi usada para manter o contraste com as figuras frontais.

Chalice - Card Study 5

"Cheers! Nigh is the moment for crimson whims!" This is the base card for the Blood Set - The vampire woman, and a toast with wine, or is it blood? I made this one in honor to Boris Valejo, and the use of green back-light and shadows.		"Salve o momento, a oportunidade, e todos os caprichos carmim!" Esta é a carta base para o grupo Sangue; A mulher vampira, e a saudação com vinho, ou será sangue? Fiz esta em honra a Boris Valejo, e o seu uso de sombras e contra-luz verde.

"Come then. My service was requested, and properly payed." This is the base card for the Coin Set - The mysterious Courtesan, and her price. Warm colors all around. XD		"Seja então. Harp - Card Study 3

"Music, to spice the Game of Love... and Death, to add its worth." This is the base card for the Harp Set - The Bard seducing the innocent girl, or is it the other way around? Wrestling with two sources of light is always an artist's pleasure. XD		"Música, para apimentar o Jogo do Amor... e Morte, para lhe dar o valor." Esta é a carta base para o grupo Harpas; O Bardo que seduz a rapariga inocente, ou será na realidade o contrário? Uma refrega com duas fontes de luz é sempre um prazer para o artista. XD

Stigma - Card study 2

"Here, take it. And practise it to perfection!" This is the base card for the Stigma Set - The Mage offering a dubious spell to the apprentice. This piece is a juggle between front and back-light, as well as warm vs cold colors.		"Toma, pega. E treina-o à perfeição!" Esta é a carta base para o grupo Estigma; O Mago que oferece um dúbio feitiço ao aprendiz. Esta peça é uma luta entre luz frontal e anterior, bem como o quente e frio.

The Final piece, with background added. The hand and spell were changed from the initial draw, due to aesthetics. A fase final, com fundo adicionado. A mão e o feitiço foram modificados em relação ao desenho inicial, por razões estéticas.

Dagger - Card study 1

"The game is set. Should we play it fairly?" This is the base card for the Dagger Set - The General setting the threat, the danger, looming and impending. It's a study on shades and colors, following the line style of great Hal Foster, and trying to restrict paint to straight ink brushes, with gradients as the one and only effect. An illustration made to allow big size posters, as well as fine detail card print.		"O jogo está pronto. Puro, ou vil... essa é a escolha." Esta é a carta base para o grupo Adagas; O General que afirma a trama, o perigo que espreita iminente. É um estudo sobre sombras e cores, que segue o estilo de linhas do grande Hal Foster, e tenta restringir a pintura ao simples pincel, com gradientes como único efeito. É uma ilustração feita com o intuito de posters de grande tamanho, e impressão de qualidade em formato de carta.

First shadow study. It was too meh. Needed more drama. Primeiro estudo de sombras. Era muito meh. Precisava de mais drama.

Second shadow study. Now, this one has a proper mood. Segundo estudo de sombras. Sim, este tem o ambiente adequado.

Color study and layering. Separating each color into different layers gives the option of quick mask selection, and preserve painting inside boundaries. Estudo de cores e preparação de camadas. Separar cada côr em diferentes camadas, oferece a opção rápida de selecção e máscara, bem como a pintura dentro da área limite.
